The Apparition in The Examination Room

January 21, 2022 - Masked, I entered the classroom for Taiwan's nationwide college entrance examination. Due to pandemic measures, air conditioning and fans were disallowed, the front and rear doors sealed shut - my sole ventilation came through a solitary window. The stifling enclosure, compounded by the cerebral strain of the exam, induced a dizzying disorientation. The words on the paper descended into unfamiliarity, precipitating an unsettling “Apparition”: “Am I fated to trudge through a life of constricting regimentation?”

First Encounter with Roll-Film

April 19, 2022 - Fresh from the entrance exam crucible, I took up a part-time job at a ramen eatery. While washing dishes, I inadvertently fished out a 135 roll-film from a customer's leftover noodle broth, the greasy film exuding an indescribable odor. A coworker, catching this peculiar sight, inquisitively tapped my shoulder: “Hey, what are you doing.”

Creation as Revelry

August 15, 2023 - I awoke and drew the ominous “Tower” Tarot card - harbinger of the Tower of Babel, unforeseen upheaval, devastation, and eventual renewal. Today is my inaugural Albumen Printing, wherein my arms became inadvertently stained by silver nitrate, blackening and abrading my skin. Yet, an epiphanic realization blossomed: “Creation is revelry!”
